With our redesigned website, Twitter, Facebook, this blog, and other new features, we think we're heading in the right direction. With that being said, we are extremely excited to unveil our most anticipated new feature: our brand new Online T-Shirt Designer!

Our Online T-Shirt Designer guides you through to process of designing custom screen printed apparel -- from concept to completion. Over the years, we've noticed a trend: our customers first head over to CustomInk.com to design their apparel and bring those designs to us for production. Our goal here is to streamline the process. With our Online T-Shirt Designer, you can now design your apparel online--just like Custom Ink!--and still be comforted by the fact that you are being taken care of by a local and familiar family business.

Here are just a few of the awesome features:
  • Over 5,000 pieces of clipart and design templates available for customization
  • Upload your own designs
  • Optional player customization (names and numbers)
  • 75+ products available -- from t-shirts to hoodies
  • Quick Quote system for easy access to pricing (hint: we nearly always beat Custom Ink)
  • P.O. system at Checkout for our school customers who pay via P.O. rather than credit cards
Of course, those are only the highlights! There are thousands of features aimed at making the process of designing your own apparel more seamless and convenient.

As we all get more familiar with the designer, new features will be added and old ones improved upon. Such is the case with every new feature, bugs and kinks will need to be worked out, but rest assured we are hard at work trying to fix them as soon as possible. If you have any suggestions or run into any bugs, please shoot us a note and we will jump on it ASAP.

]]><![CDATA[Store Upgrades for the New Year]]>Mon, 16 Jan 2012 11:53:37 -0500http://www.burkesports.com/1/post/2012/01/store-upgrades-for-the-new-year.htmlAs we are constantly growing and evolving, we are always looking for ways to improve internally so we can operate more efficiently and better serve our customers.

Here are some additions we've made to the store in just the last couple of weeks:

Embroidery
1. Additional Embroidery Machine and Computer. Our embroidery operation has expanded rapidly in the last 12-18 months and our old setup was quickly growing inefficient. We added another computer for graphic art, digitization (digitization is the process of converting an artwork file into an embroidery-capable file), and machine operation, along with an additional embroidery machine. Our embroidery operation now consists of two computers and five embroidery machines. 
CadCutter
2. New CadCutter. One function a cadcutter performs that most of our customers are familiar with is that it's the machine responsible for cutting player names out of film to be applied to team uniforms, spirit wear, etc. Our older cadcutter could really only perform that function. Our new one is capable of a few other things that we are excited about and will be unveiling here shortly. Other than more functionality, it is of course faster, more reliable, and of better quality.
Burke Sporting Goods: Shelves!
3. New Shelving. Of course, the biggest problem with constant growth and evolution, other than needing to upgrade capacity, is finding the room for everything! We installed three eight foot tall shelving units to help us become more efficient, organized, and to help us keep a cleaner store front.
We are always looking for ways to improve internally so we can serve our customers better through friendly customer service, quality products, and efficient turnaround time.
